One of the most popular yarns of 2007 was a machine-washable DK weight yarn called Marble, from S.R. Kertzer. I expect that popularity will continue into 2008. Some of the new colors are brown-based and will make wonderful masculine garments. It helps too, that there is good yardage (240 yards) and a good price ($4.99). Here’s a preview of the new colors:

We’re also using one strand of Marble with one strand of Encore on size 11, to do a rectangle garter stitch prayer shawl for my pastor’s wife. The shawl is making the rounds from knitter to knitter with a few stitches done by non-knitters too.

Project Notes from Lea-Ann: I’m knitting mine with Galway color 8 — https://knittingtoday.com/go.mvc?ID=70880008 — which is pretty white. I’m hopeful it will felt. In fact, maybe that’s the reason I woke up at 2am this morning wide awake — to test felt the Galway!! BRB
Have you knit the Woolly Snow series? If so, please share what yarn worked for you and post picture links so we can check them out! If you don’t have a blog to share your pictures in, remember you can always use our Forums area.
Hmmm, don’t know if I’ll keep them or not, but just got progress bars installed that correspond to my projects listed in Ravelry.com . . . . have any of you bloggers done this too and what do you think? Lea-Ann
ETA (which I’ve always thought meant estimated time of arrival, but now know it means: “Edited To Add”): cool, changed the color of the progress bars to a light blue and added pictures from my flickr account!Â
