One of the most popular yarns of 2007 was a machine-washable DK weight yarn called Marble, from S.R. Kertzer. I expect that popularity will continue into 2008. Some of the new colors are brown-based and will make wonderful masculine garments. It helps too, that there is good yardage (240 yards) and a good price ($4.99). Here’s a preview of the new colors:

Recommended patterns to use with Marble:ÂÂ
- Adult Basic Cardigan (Norling) [details missing from page, we’ll get those fixed!]
- Adult Bolero Style Cardi (SR Kertzer)
- Child’s Simple Cardigan and BootiesÂÂ
We’re also using one strand of Marble with one strand of Encore on size 11, to do a rectangle garter stitch prayer shawl for my pastor’s wife. The shawl is making the rounds from knitter to knitter with a few stitches done by non-knitters too.
