Really. I mean it. I want to knit! There, my little tantrum is out of the way. It started back on my birthday when someone (Cynthia) said to me on facebook to knit something I want to knit or would bring me pleasure or something like that. Ever since then, I’ve been looking at all my WIPs, my UFOs, my dream list, and nothing has fit the bill. NOTHING! I was really starting to feel that I’m in a knitting slump. I mean, I know I’m overwhelmed with updating the website, juggling special orders, finding boxes when they arrive and get shoved in the backroom, keeping up with accounting, and nameless other things a store owner has to do (vacuum? What’s that?). But, really, a slump?? The whole problem just got solved. And it was Cat Bordhi to the rescue — again! She has a new technique i can’t wait to get on the needles and try. The Sweet Tomato Sock Heel. Yep, I’m ready. If only I hadn’t walked out of the store without the needles and yarn and, to top it off, I’m not stepping back foot in there until Tuesday. I promised myself a day off to spend with Tara and Haley before the crush of August hits and Monday is the day. So, here am I, ready to knit and no tools. How about you? Â Do you want to try the Sweet Tomato Sock Heel along with me? Â Which pattern are you going to knit? Â Keep my enthusiasm going. Â In the meantime, I’ll get back to working on the new website design . . .
I will totally do the sweet tomato sock heel with you!!
Yeah! I’m going to do Minnesota Moonlight. Should I use the Smooshy with Cashmere? Or something else from my stash? I would like to do them in a new yarn I have on the list to buy, but don’t want to wait that long for it to fit in the budget . . .
Oh! Smooshy with cashmere is a great idea! Hmmm green or purple….. I have both dream club colors left. I’ll need to download that ebook and look at patterns. I also am sitting on some Happy Feet and some Mountain Colors Bearfoot to consider.
Hi Lea-Ann, I just found Cat’s latest technique earlier this week and was just waiting to download the new e-book. I have not looked at any of the patterns yet but I will join you in knitting her new heel. I am on a roll in that I have finished something every month this year related to socks and I am including the fingerless gloves I did as they were a lighter weight yarn so in my book that counts. I am currently knitting from a pattern I got from you years ago, Celtic Braid Socks #157 so I want to finish these first. Off to get the new e-book and keep us posted on what yarn you finally choose. I will look in my overflowing stash for something I got from you to make these socks, I am sure I will and can find something. Good luck with the new web site.
I love the feel of the Smooshy with Cashmere so I’m thinking of it for a scarf. Somehow my feet just aren’t all that picky about feel. I’m looking about for something bright and sunny, like Cat herself.
