One little bundle

I do not need another bag, I do not need another bag, I do NOT need another bag!

But, these are so pretty!  And they’re just the right size for a smaller project (never mind that I’m not working on any small projects… I’ll start one).  And they have a nice wide bottom so they stand up.  And it is so cool how the handle is attached to the zipper.  They are lovely and I want one.  What am I talking about?

Also never mind that I just bought a very cool, one of a kind bag from a local crafter (Melissa Hess, of Green Chick Designs).  It holds my bigger projects, has a pocket big enough for a pattern/book on one side (with a small pocket on the outside of the big pocket) and a smaller pocket on the other.  Also has a nice sized pocket on the inside and a strap long enough that I can carry it messenger style and knit while I’m doing whatever.  I really like that it is made almost entirely of recycled clothing and upholstery fabric.  Very cool.  Check it out…..

I just love it when I have something different; when I know that there will most definitely not ever be another “one” just like “it”. You know, something a little “funky”.  I just adore the fabrics on this bag.  As I said before, I don’t need another bag but I couldn’t resist the fabrics.  I find myself running my hand over the circular patterned fabric and the fringe around the top.  If you like the idea of having a one-of-a-kind bag there will be some in the shop closer to the holidays.  She has several different sizes available, each one different.  Can’t wait to see what she comes up with! – Susan

P.S.  Also, never mind that I just commissioned a purse from her.  Not the one pictured above, but one to carry as an actual purse.

P.P.S.  Again, also never mind that she had an adorable smaller purse for a little girl that I just had to get.

the day after UFO night

and I’m taking stock on what I was able to get done and don’t want to think about how much I need to go . . . a couple rows of Cassidy, which actually is a huge accomplishment considering that I’m knitting a huge size and I combined the fronts/back.  I did maintain some decreases at the waistline but increased back out to my bust size.  I want it fitting, but not fitted; if you know what I mean.  I am absolutely loving working in the Shepherd’s Wool worsted and my color is Great Lakes.   Here’s the current pic:

Also on UFO night, we caught up on some giveaways.  Jan had won Tom’s FCCTCC contest and she used the gift certificate toward Lorna Miser’s Faith, Hope, Love book and some yarn, I believe.  I’m a little foggy after staying up a couple hours later than normal.  Natalie and Jan had both won Knit Happy Notebooks in a pre-Stitches Midwest post too.  Here’s a picture with Haley standing in for Natalie.

And, here’s the gang, happily knitting away.  Its so much fun and I love having everyone gathered here.  Haley took these candid shots and while everyone seemed to be smiling, I see she caught a few looking not so happy . . . and then some snuck out before the pictures even began.

before I put them back on display <ewwhhh>, but I couldn’t help myself.  My feet were COLD this morning and I don’t have a pair of socks at home to wear since they are all at the store so I swiped a pair off the display!  Here they are:

I LOVE merino

ella rae lace merino. . . and when its lace weight and colorful, I love it all over again.  But, throw in the word “superwash” . . . oh my, someone throw the cold water on me and pick me up off the floor.  This stuff is BEAUTIFUL!  What is it, you ask?  Why its “Ella Rae Lace Merino” and, well,  here’s a photo for your enjoyment.


Do you have any project ideas for it? I’m thinking a newborn baby surprise? little hats, booties? Maybe a lace shawl? Comment below with link ideas, please!

I have a heads up that Friday, yes, Friday October 2, there is a HUGE shipment due to arrive from the distributors of Hiya Hiya needles.  That means, drumroll please, the interchangeables will be back.in.stock!!!!  I have tons of people on the wait list for these needles and you will be notified in the order of being added to the list that they are now available for ordering.   It also means all the holes on the needle rack will be filled — again!  Yeah!!!!  -lea-ann
